Executive dashboards that show leadership where the problem is.

I build the executive view for rural and critical access hospitals: the few numbers leadership acts on, one agreed definition behind each, and the drill from a red flag to the cause.

Critical access and community hospitals Tableau, SQL, and EHR pipelines HIPAA and PHI insured
The gap

You get the number every month. You get no reason behind it.

The board sees a red flag and asks why. The answer takes a week, arrives as a spreadsheet, and settles nothing. The problem is not effort. It is that nobody agreed on what the number means, so nobody can say what moves it.

What leadership sees

  • A red flag with no drill-down below it
  • Three departments, three definitions of the same metric
  • An enterprise dashboard nobody opens
  • Reporting that consumes the month and decides nothing

What I build

  • One view per audience, built for the meeting it gets read in
  • Every number drills to the department, the driver, and the date
  • One agreed definition per metric, so finance and quality walk in with the same figure
  • A dashboard no one opens is a cost, and it comes off the budget
What I deliver

Four things, delivered as one practice.

01

Executive dashboards

Financial, patient, operations, and people views on the Balanced Scorecard your board already thinks in. One view per audience, drillable from the flag to the driver.

02

The stack underneath

Tableau Server stood up and administered, the ETL pipeline built from your EHR into it, and audit-ready CMS, HCAHPS, and MBQIP reporting on top. You own the data model, the queries, and the visualization layer.

03

Diagnostic analysis

Which lever actually moves the stuck number, proven on your own data before anyone builds anything. If the data cannot support the intervention, I say so before charging for the build.

04

KPI governance

One definition, one owner, one formula, and one source per metric, registered in MeasureMap, the proprietary KPI registry bundled with the retainer.

Method

The method is named, documented, and old enough to trust.

The practice runs on public industry standards, applied the way an operator applies them. The Balanced Scorecard carries four perspectives: financial, patient, internal process, learning and growth. CRISP-DM is the six-phase delivery lifecycle, which is why a working dashboard lands inside 30 days. Parmenter's measure discipline keeps the register honest, because most KPIs are not KPIs and the few that are get acted on now. Benchmarks come from the healthcare peer sets your quality team already reports against: HCAHPS, CMS Care Compare, and MBQIP.

Patient experience · 11-month engagement

Correlated the survey items that moved the score, then rebuilt the two touchpoints attached to them.

Correlation analysis against every patient survey item identified the two lowest-scoring questions with the highest pull on overall NPS. Two discharge touchpoints were rebuilt against those drivers. Patient satisfaction moved 22 points inside eleven months and held. No vendor module was added. The intervention ran on data the hospital already had, owned by the coordinator who already managed the workflow.

Anonymized facility. Outcomes reported to the board on the standard reporting schedule.

Vendor displacement · Annual contract

An enterprise BI platform nobody opened. Replaced, retired, off the budget.

The enterprise third-party dashboard the clinical and finance teams had stopped opening was replaced with custom reporting built against the actual workflow. The $150,000 implementation came off the books, the replacement saved $10,000 a year, and the capability stayed in-house: owned, documented, and reported to the board.

For consulting firms

The BI workstream under your badge.

Your firm wins the engagement. I take the dashboard, metric-definition, and driver-analysis workstream as a subcontractor: white-label deliverables in your template, your client relationship untouched outside the engagement. NDA, MSA, and IC agreements are already drafted. HIPAA and PHI insured.

No published rate. Subcontract work is scoped and quoted per engagement.

Engagement

Start with the diagnostic, or go straight to the retainer.

$8,500

30-Day Diagnostic

Four weeks of structured discovery against your real systems, your real staffing model, and your real reporting cycle. You leave with a written brief: the lever, the cost, and the number it should move. If the number is not reachable, the brief says that too.

Credited in full against month 1 of a retainer signed within 90 days.

$15,000/mo

Monthly Retainer

The full practice on your side of the table: executive dashboards, the analysis underneath them, KPI governance, and MeasureMap, the proprietary KPI registry, included at no separate fee.

No initiation fee. One-month initial term, then month-to-month with 30 days notice.

These rates are locked and consistent everywhere CGC Labs publishes a price. Consulting-firm subcontract work is quoted per engagement.
